Avoid bad advisors

Ever had a conversation with someone and thought “this person didn’t hear a word I said”. If this is how you felt speaking to an advisor then you need to change. Steer clear of:

  1. An advisor who offers immediate product solutions without considering all your needs including budget constraints, insurance and retirement planning.
  2. An advisor who promotes an investment as “get rich quick” - if it sounds too good to be true, it normally is.
  3. An advisor who frequently changes your investments (“churning” your investments) as they are making money on upfront commissions and possibly costing you money.
  4. An advisor who is not an authorised representative of a Licensee. They may not be qualified to provide advice.
  5. An advisor who is linked to one product or brand.
